What is an MDSE Certified Pre-K Program ?
​
Berlin Education Station is a recipient of the MSDE Pre-Kindergarten Expansion grant, which means that we are able to use MSDE funds to provide high quality pre-kindergarten education to our students that follows the same standards and format of the public school program. We employ MSDE Certified teachers and assistants in our program and use MSDE approved curriculum in all classrooms. Our program includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack as well as extra curricular activities, including field trips.

The Pre-K Program runs daily from 8:30am - 3:30pm. This program is available at no cost to families who meet eligibility criteria. Tuition pricing available for those who don't meet the criteria. Wrap around care from 7:30am - 5:30pm is available at an additional cost , as well as early bird care from 6:45am-7:30am and extended care from 5:30pm-6:00pm/ Please call the office for tuition information.

Children Study Their World Curriculum
​
BES has been implementing the Children Study Their World (CSW) curriculum in our Pre-K classrooms. This MSDE approved curriculum focuses on project based learning and hands on exploration of the classroom. Children learn about the world around them through both small and large group activities as well as center based activities to further their curiosity and development.

We Are An Assessment Based Learning Center
All children develop and grow at varying rates and while age is a good starting point to determine social readiness for preschool, it is not the only aspect. Many early learning centers choose to transition children at birthdays; however, Berlin Education Station uses Early Preschool as a starting point to transition children at the natural school year (June and/or August), once various social, emotional and physical milestones have been met. This minimizes transitions for our little ones and allows children to move classrooms with familiar faces, giving them a sense of community and security as they grow and learn.

Physical education is integrated in to the daily curriculum as preschool students spend ample time each day engaging in a structured physical activity class within the Berlin Activities Depot.

Vigorous physical play to promote gross motor development and allow for better concentration during academic times.

Social free-play to foster important social skills and emotional development.

Small class sizes so when it does come time to learn early reading skills, children have individualized instruction to feel confident in their abilities.

Marvelous Monkeys
3 year olds
Marvelous Monkeys is a classroom for our younger pre-k students. Each day students are immersed into a positive learning experience through a combination of large & small group activities, center activities, math, literacy, art, dramatic play, music and much more! We will work on fostering independence and critical thinking skills to prepare for PK4.

Using the Children Explore Their World part of the CDW curriculum, students will use project based learning to explore their classroom and develop skills to prepare them for school. Our days are full of exploration and hands on learning in a positive learning environment.
Leapin' Lizards
3 year olds
Leapin Lizards is a classroom for our younger pre-k students. Each day students are immersed into a positive learning experience through a combination of large & small group activities, center activities, math, literacy, art, dramatic play, music and much more! We will work on fostering independence and critical thinking skills to prepare for PK4.
